Blog Number 6 - Tyler Bates, Composer for '300' movie

It was confirmed recently that Tyler Bates who was the composer for Zack Snyder's remake of the 'Dawn of the Dead' will handle the same responsibilities for Frank Miller's '300'. I'm curious if  the Snyder/Bates collaboration attains the same type of success in this movie about the Battle of Thermopylae as other movie-making tandems such as Robert De Niro/Martin Scorsese, Johnny Depp/Tim Burton, Denzel Washington/Spike Lee and let's not forget Woody Allen/Woody Allen.

Will the Tyler Bates soundtrack be as memorable as the music to 'The 300 Spartans'?

i hope the music of 300 must be as
good as the others.
Incredible but true: The music in a movie is as important as the lead and other actors that moves and sound together with the action.
Sometimes is not necessary talk the corporal movements and music do it all.

Greetings Turandot~

If Tyler Bates soundtrack is as memorable as the music by Manos Hadjidakis in 'The 300 Spartans', that would be quite an accomplishment. I hope he can do it!

Cheers,

G'day Miyuki~

The soundtrack to 'The 300 Spartans' is very memorable and enduring. Evidently Zack Snyder has the right man since he used Tyler Bates on another project.

Cheers,

Greetings Miyuki~

I'm curious about this myself since the story as much as I enjoyed it wasn't as fully developed as Steven Pressfield's 'Gates of Fire'. Only time will tell!

Cheers,

John

Hi Miyuki~

It seems as if we will have to wait since '300' looks as if it will be released around the end of 2006/beginning of 2007.

Cheers,

John
